Happy Easter…a few days late

As you know, Easter comes after Good Friday. Good Friday gave us a day away from work. I started my day by sleeping in until 9:00. It was a much-needed rest period and helped get me jump started for the busy weekend. My husband decided to start his day off bright and early with a trip to the golf course. As his first golf outing of the year, he was pretty excited. He got 9 holes in before the rain and was able to enjoy some fresh air and warm temps.

We spent the rest of the day shopping for shoes, eating yummy wings, and looking at nursery furniture. It was a relaxing day filled with one-on-one time that we had been missing because of our busy schedules. Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the house to spend the day together. Instead of doing our everyday things, we were able to enjoy the company of each other. As always, my husband does an excellent job of taking care of me and making sure I’m eating, drinking, and feeling well.

Saturday was another busy day for me. I had brunch with my grandma, aunt, and mother at my grandma’s nursing home. The food was delicious and the company equally as good. I had 45 minutes to rest before going to my in-laws for dinner. I was physically exhausted, but couldn’t find the calmness to take a nap. Instead, I listened to my husband rejuvenate himself by playing his guitar. It was a nice calm to his long day of working on a presentation and my physical day of action. Dinner was excellent, as always. We enjoyed prayers by my 3 1/2 year old nephew. Bryan had been waiting all week to hear his animated version of the prayer. “Tick, tock, now it’s time to pray…” There was no hidden candy throughout the house because of said 3 1/2 year old, but we did get to take our basket home in a sack so he couldn’t see the goods. Three days later and the basket is history, but the giant dove chocolate bunnies haven’t been opened yet. I give myself tonight to dive into that monster chocolate goodness.

Bryan and I decided we needed a date night so we could enjoy some more alone time. We saw The Bounty Hunter with Jennifer Aniston and Gerald Butler. We decided going to a movie was more important than being able to see something really good. It was an ok chick flick, but nothing to spend hours talking about. I found my criticism is much worse around movies with the added hormones flowing through my body.

Sunday: Finally a day of rest! Extra sleep, nowhere to be, and lots of snuggle time with my two favorite guys! We even found the energy to hit up the grocery store, Wal-Mart, and I did one load of laundry. It was borderline too much activity for a day of rest that both of us needed. Bryan’s been battling a head cold for the last week and I tire easily regardless of the day.

I hope you had a relaxing and wonderful Easter weekend!
