We gave Maximus his first bath when he was one week old. Daddy put together the bath and put it in the kitchen sink while Maximus had his mid-morning snack. We took the two-person approach so he wouldn’t get cold. I covered him in warm water so he didn’t get mad. We scrubbed him down with baby wash and he laid there like there was nothing going on. He cried when he first went into the bath, but as soon as the warm water was covering him, he was satisfied. We wrapped him up in a hooded towel and smothered him with delicious-smelling baby lotion. We didn’t get to witness his first bath so neither of us knew if he liked it or not. It could have been beginners luck, but it seems that he’s going to like to take baths.
