Blog Party 2010!

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

The Blog Party sparked my interest because I’ve been blogging for over a year now. My blog began as a little spot in the internet world where I could write. For me, writing was my thoughts, creative ideas, book reviews, or life in general. Slowly, I began finding my niche in this little piece of the blogging world. I gained confidence and publicized my blog link. I started getting followers who I didn’t know and it started exciting me!

Just when I was comfortable and trying to keep my rhythm (i.e. posting regularly on an organized schedule), my world changed. It took a 360 in the opposite direction. We found out we were P.R.E.G.N.A.N.T! (Yes, I trusted just one test and left the other two in the box.) My blogging became sparse and I couldn’t think of anything important to say. Everything important was locked up tightly and sealed inside our minds. It was a secret. A four-month long secret.

During this blog freeze, I decided I wanted to change the look and feel of my blog. I wasn’t getting what I wanted in my previous host, so I decided with the announcement of a new baby would come a new blog! I spent my non-blogging time creating a new look and writing the posts that I would be able to publish very soon.

Over the past year, I’ve realized that blogging means a lot to me. It started out as a mental release that was purely personal. Now, it’s grown into so much more. I realize I needed to start the slow journey of understanding the blog world so I could reach the point I’m at today. I’m so excited to see where this mommy blogging thing goes and to share the ups and downs of pregnancy, birth, a newborn, and raising a child. To me, blogging is so much more than sharing with family and friends what is going on in our lives. It’s a chance for me to share my experiences with strangers. The blog world is a chance to learn and experience things you’d otherwise not every know about. It’s a way to see how others live and see how their decisions impact their lives.

Now you’re up to speed on my blogging history. Head over to the About Me tab to find out more about me outside of this new mommy blogger thing that I’m working on.
